Moments in Time: My 2012

I can't believe another year has gone by. I just remember compiling my favorite images from 2011 and posting them as if it were yesterday. And now here I am again, this time choosing my favorite images from 2012. 2012, my what a wonderful year you have been to me. Sometimes throughout the year I would sit and daydream about all of the great things I wanted to do and read about others' adventures, and then I would wonder what am I doing in my life? Now looking back through my photos, I can't help but feel a bit guilty. I truly was blessed to have experienced so many things with family and friends, and offered opportunities that I would have never even believed if you told me would come this time last year.
And so these photos are little reminders to truly be thankful, because sometimes we tend to forget how much we are given until we look back. I'm not sure what 2013 holds, but I have faith that as long I never give up hope and keep on dreaming, the best is yet to come. And so as we say celebrate with loved ones tonight and toast goodbye to the past year, let's not forget the little things that helped us grow.
So here is to 2013, hoping for a year full of smiles, health, impossible dreams, winning that marathon you've always wanted, traveling across the country, eating an entire pizza to yourself, laughing so hard you can't breathe, the little whispers from your heart that tell you "you can do this", and for much love. Happy Happy New Year!!

And so this is Christmas

Happy Christmas by John Lennon has to be one of my favorite Christmas songs. The rhythm and lyrics of the song are so cheerful and just puts you in the holiday spirit. Once the shopping is done, and all of the wonderful dishes and yummy desserts have been made...we can finally celebrate and eat with all those we love =). Today we also remember a beautiful baby by the name of Jesus that came into this world for us some time ago, and because of Him I truly believe there is still good and beauty in the world. Here are a few photos of pretty decorations I snapped that add some sparkle to the season. I wish you a Merry Merry Christmas and the happiest of holiday celebrations!

Lucky 5

December seems to have flown by, I can hardly believe Christmas is only 3 days away! As a child, Christmas always seemed to take forever to come, but as you get older it seems to come faster and faster! Even with all the hustling and bustling, I have been practicing taking a few photos with different techniques and so here is my lucky 5 photos that have made it up on the blog. Why lucky? Probably because out of the hundreds I took they were picked to be in the spotlight... oh and I also really liked the title. =) Have a great weekend, enjoy!

The turquoise makes the oranges seems so much more appealing... dont'cha think?
This necklace was just too pretty not to photograph.
I had to have this notebook with a quote so inspiring.
New stud heels...totally fierce.
Our little bit of snow a few weeks ago...here's wishing for a white Christmas. =)

Jack The Elf

Last year our Elf on the Shelf Jack was up to some silly shenanigans, and this year he's back with all new tricks up his sleeve! Whether it be tying up my little brother in a string of lights (which I totally don't mind of course =P), or eating up our stash of cookies....Jack sure is a little mischievous elf. Here are a few photos I took of him in action...enjoy and happy Fridayyyy!!! =)

Pure Genius.
No one will ever find me in here...muahaha!
Looks like Jack has found our stash of cookies!
Lounging in the Christmas Tree: What Elves do best.
Sometimes Jack likes to go zip-lining across our Christmas lights...

Oh Christmas Tree

When I was a little girl I would lay down under our Christmas tree fascinated at the different colored lights that would change patterns with the twist of a button I held in my hands. I would lay there for what seemed like hours as I listened to my little radio play "The First Noel" and other Christmas songs. The days leading up to Christmas I feel, are always the happiest. Yes everyone is in a rush trying to buy everything on their shopping list, but even so there is a sense of joy in the air. I've always loved the beautiful twinkling lights that fill the streets during this time of year.
And so even with the hustle and bustle the holidays bring, and the changes that come along with it, one thing remains the same. When I do take a moment to look at a Christmas tree, it always brings me right back to when I was a little girl....still dazzled at the beauty and magic it holds.

Lifestyle Portraits: Holiday Family Photos

Bow ties, Vintage Cameras, and Charlie's Angels? Yep this session had it all. The past week I had the opportunity to photograph Jamie and her wonderful family. This family was beyond awesome, I mean from jumping in the air to fun silly poses, they totally didn't need my help in front of the camera----instead they had me laughing throughout the entire session! Jamie is also an amazing photographer, be sure to visit her website and look at her beautiful work! Here are my favorite photos from the session, enjoy!
