The L Family | At-Home Newborn Session

I love photographing growing families all the way from their engagement portraits to maternity to newborn. I photographed this sweet family's maternity session this past May and now got to meet and document their second little babe at their at-home family session!

Our Maternity Portrait Session

I love photographing maternity portrait sessions, and so of course I was super excited to have our own maternity session photographed by the wonderful Magdalena Studios. We drove down to Ocean City, New Jersey and it was a gorgeous summer night with the most beautiful and glorious sunset. I'm loving the water and being in it any chance I get right now, so of course I jumped right in and splashed around for some photographs towards the end of our session. Here are my favorites... I can't believe baby girl will be here soon!

The S Family | At-Home Portrait Session

At home family portrait sessions are always so wonderful because it allows the family to feel comfortable in their own space, therefore creating beautiful and authentic memories. This maternity/family portrait session is a combination of natural/candid and "studio" portraits which I absolutely loved. The light in their home and outside as well was so soft and lovely... perfect for their photos right before another baby girl joins their sweet family.

The Love I Carry

// For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members are written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none. // ~Psalm 139:13-16

It's incredible what God made the woman's body to do during pregnancy. How He creates a living soul out of the tiniest particles--- and yet He thought of that little soul before it was even the size of a speck.

I've never fully understood how God can love us unconditionally, but somehow through carrying this little blessing I've come to know a deeper love for a soul growing within me that I don't even know yet.

How is that possible? That I ache to hold her and know her, yet I already don't want her to grow up? How can I love this little soul so much, and I've yet to even see her?

We live in an incredible time with technology that allows us to see within the womb, and even give us a picture of that little face wiggling around the mother's belly.

But God tells us that He already knew this little soul before science or machines could confirm that there truly is a baby in the womb.

Way before I clutched the paper that confirmed there was indeed a baby growing inside me--- I felt little sparks and flutters inside my belly, surely something I'd never felt before. And I knew from that moment on, God had a purpose and a plan for this little one.

// Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. // ~ Jeremiah 1:5

The Lord has a plan and purpose for each and every single one of us. Even before we are a spark of existence in our mother's belly--- God already thought of us, loved us, and died for us. His love far outweighs any love we can have for others and even our own children that He blesses us with.

What an incredible truth that is!

No matter what happens in our lives, we can be rest assured that we were never an accident--- to God we are part of His grand plan from the very beginning. And you can know that YOU matter, have a purpose, and are loved beyond time and space.

// For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. // ~ Ephesians 2:10

Our Baby in Bloom Shower

I'm so excited to finally be able to share photographs from my beautiful Baby in Bloom Baby Shower! The day was so special with everyone that was able to come celebrate Baby B and I. It took months of planning, visualizing the details, and lots of help which I am so incredibly grateful for! My sister along with mom, husband, and other family members helped make sure everything was beautiful and ready for the day.

I can't express how grateful I am to everyone that came (and also those who sent gifts from afar!) and filled the room with their laughter, well wishes, and sweet gifts for our baby girl on the way... we are so blessed and she is already so loved. It truly took time, dedication, and love for everything to come together, but it did and it was absolutely beautiful. Thank you to everyone for making this day so special and one we will always look back on!
