I can't believe a whole year has already passed since our baby girl was born and she is now 1! I spent the entire summer planning and dreaming up her first birthday party for her theme: La Dolce Vita/ Dolce 1. I gathered a lot of inspiration from our travels to Italy this past spring and other trips and slowly created and "diy'd" most of the details for the party.

Here are my favorite details I photographed and links to where you can purchase the items I used to make them. I also included the wonderful vendors for the cake, soft play + bouncy house, and balloon cart. La vita really is much more dolce with our little Gigi in our lives... enjoy!

Naked Cake with Lemon & Blueberry Filling (I added the lemon slices and Baby's Breath florals from Trader Joes): A Little Cake

Custom Name Flag Cake Topper: Etsy

"1" Cake Topper with Name: Etsy

I made the "1" and "G" Chocolate Torta Caprese cakes! For the 1 and the G, I simply printed out the number and letter, cut them out and placed it on the cakes and then sprinkled powdered sugar on top for the pretty effect!

Striped Yellow Backdrop: I imported my selected striped background and had it printed at Zazzle

"One Year Of..." Photo Board: Etsy

Soft Play Rental, Bouncy House, Cart with Balloons: Sprinkle The Fun Events

Custom Sugar Cookies: Nom Nom Bakes

White Baby Vespa: Walmart

Stickers for tables: Zazzle I created them in Photoshop and then cut them once they arrived from Zazzle.

Custom Coloring Pages with Color packets: These were so much fun and came out so cute and a crowd favorite! I used Chatgpt and input a photo as reference and asked it to create a series of coloring pages based on different scenes and prompts I listed (Gigi on beach eating a gelato, Gigi on Vespa alongside Amalfi Coast etc,...). I then had them printed for each table. ***Tip: If you purchase Chatgpt for 1 month, you won't be limited to only a few hours of usage a day and can actually get more than one coloring page created.

Centerpieces with Trader Joe's florals: I purchased these cute pastel mini pots and filled them with flowers from Trader Joe's and tied a balloon to each one.

 Tablecloths: Shein & Tablecloth Factory

Sign with Locations and Names: This one was a fun DIY project! I had my husband cut a long piece of wood and then I recreated these signs in Photoshop with my own custom words, printed them and hot glued them to the piece of wood.

"1" Chair Banner: Etsy

Custom Name Flag Cake Topper: Etsy

Handwoven Personalized Basket Purse: Etsy We were leaving Sorrento when this similar purse caught my eye hanging up in one of the little shops and it gave me an idea for her birthday. I didn't end up purchasing it in Italy but was determined to find it when back home and I did on Etsy!

White Lattice Panel with pink flower vines: I was inspired by the beautiful flower walls when we went to Capri and had the idea of recreating it for my daughter's birthday.

Wayfair: I got a small piece of white lattice from Home Depot and used floral wire to attach more than one piece together and then fastened the intertwined flowers to make it look like they were growing throughout the lattice.

Golden Rectangular Stand with Colorful Ribbons for Photo Display: I wanted to display photographs of Gigi during her year in a creative yet different way, and so I cut long chiffon ribbons and tied them to the top of this rectangular backdrop stand. I then printed out the photographs and taped them onto each piece. It flowed beautifully in the wind alongside the dessert table.

"Gigi Spritz" Signs: I had Chatgpt create this cute version of a photo I uploaded and asked it to also include the ingredients for our guests to make the drink. I then printed the posters out, attached them to foam board, cut it to a smaller size and placed them on mini stands on the cart.

Dried orange slices: Amazon

Mini Polaroid Frames: Shein I absolutely loved that these little frames looked like Polaroids when I saw them and so I printed out a photo of Gigi and wrapped them in a cute holographic cellophane bag and gave it as a souvenir to all of our guests at the party.

Goodie Bags with Custom Sticker: I used Chatgpt to create a cartoon image of another image I uploaded and create a cute sticker for me in certain colors and wording. I then had the large round stickers printed at AllStickerPrinting and stuck them onto white goodie bags purchased on Amazon. I stuffed the goodie bags with stickers, fruit candies, bubbles, mini popper fidget toys, play dough and chalk.
