The end of the year brings a sense of closure to old memories, dreams, milestones, and sometimes loved ones. And it could bring sadness and longing for what was or could’ve been. I go there too— wishing I could go back just one last time. Relive that moment, speak to that person, embrace them again. But you know what?

When you know and trust in Jesus— the past doesn’t define you anymore, because you are now a new creation… once you get saved you are “born again”!

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3

The first day of a new year is like a fresh breath of air filled with hope and has me looking for that first glimmer of light, the rays that shatter the darkness when the day breaks.

There’s no sense in looking back, because as C.S. Lewis once said, “there are far, far better things ahead, than any we leave behind.”

We have SO much to look forward to in Christ! He tells us we are to put on the new man that comes with new dreams, direction, and purpose.

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:24

No man has seen, heard, or can even imagine the things the Lord has planned for those that love Him— He promises us this!

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

And so may 2026 be the year you come to know just how loved you are by the God that created you and may you seek His Word that fills you with His unspeakable peace, a joy that never runs out, and His overwhelming love that changes you and makes all things new.

Happy 2026 friends!!
