My little one often wants to be nestled close to me most of the time— when cooking, cleaning, sleeping, or even eating. Today’s society is quick to deem that as a negative and pull these little ones away from mothers from fear of becoming “too attached”.
And at first I believed it, but the truth is— I was created to draw her near, to be her comfort, to let her know I am always here. The same way Jesus wants us to come directly to Him— He also created mothers to be the ultimate source of safety, love, and comfort for their babies.
It will be hard in the beginning. You’ll feel like you never have time for yourself— but this season of them being so little and needing you is fleeting.
But the bond that is built from this early time? It will last forever.
So don’t mind what the world says. Draw them close, let them sleep beside you, nurse them to sleep, bring them with you in your outings, include them in your everyday.
They’ll have their whole lives to grow up and be independent— and you will one day have time for yourself again. But for now, in this tiny amount of time— fill them with every ounce of your extravagant love. ♡
