My mom, sister, and I took a little girls getaway and visited Cape May for Mother's Day. The Lord gave us the most beautiful weather to enjoy and it was relaxing, and just what we needed. Cape May is so charming!
With its cute shops, restaurants, wineries, lighthouse, farms, bike riding, and of course walks along the beach... it's absolutely perfect for a little weekend away. Every corner was picturesque and most things are within walking distance. We loved staying at the Red Cottage part of The Virginia Hotel & Cottages. We had the entire top floor suite to ourselves with the overlooking balconies, and it was so beautiful! Here are a few photographs from our time there. ♡
Accommodations:
The Virginia Hotel & Cottages (The Red Cottage)
They had that perfect touch of "southern hospitality".
Things to Do:
We climbed the lighthouse and the view was beautiful! There are 199 steps in total! It's definitely a bit of a workout, but if a pregnant girl like me can do it, you can too!
Great little boutiques, restaurants, and ice cream shops... all within walking distance from the hotels and beach.
Adorable little beach farm with farmer's market. There are little pigs and chickens roaming on the farm and cute items/homemade novelties you can buy inside the market. They also serve lunch and dinner, a car is recommended to visit though since it isn't near the main area by the beach.
Only a little walking distance from our cottage is this great bike rental shop. We loved going on a morning stroll on the boardwalk on our bikes with the beautiful ocean breeze and sunshine!
Though we didn't visit, this winery has great reviews and is only a short drive away with beautiful views, wine tastings, local events, and lunch/dinner menus.
