I can't believe another year has gone by. To be honest my mind is still stuck in 2019, partly because of all the craziness that has happened, but also because last year was just too beautiful to forget. It almost seems like time stopped and then we found ourselves months later into the year.
I don't think any birthday will ever truly be as magical as last year's turning 30 with my family in Sorrento and then Danilo showing up in Italy to propose, but I'm learning that there's always something beautiful to be found in every season.
Whatever happens in my life, I know God is good and will always use whatever it is for my good and His glory. As my Mamma always says, "Dio รจ grande" (God is grand).
And it's crazy to think, this will be my last year as a single, unmarried girl living at home with my family! It's bittersweet. While I'll miss the wonderful years I've had growing up at home, I'm excited and know God has another beautiful season in store for me.
I recently finished a book that said to not wait for your life to start. Don't wait for that special someone to come into your life to make memories, don't wait to live in a better place to make it a cute home, don't wait until you have money to begin a dream of yours, don't wait to get married to begin your life.
I couldn't agree more.
Sometimes as young girls we always want to skip a few steps to be happy and begin living. But I'm so grateful I got to grow right where I was.
The best thing ever when you feel in between seasons? Get to know the Lord Jesus as your Savior. And through that you will find who you were created to be as well. No need to chase the wind and travel to crazy places to find yourself... I promise you, you get to know who the God of the universe is who made you, and you'll know who you are and things will start to come into place.
As my little brother always says, "Do what you can do." Wise words indeed. I think a lot of times we think we have all the time in the world... but that's not promised at all.
At 31, I have so much to learn, but grateful to God for all that He's given me. The people who I'm surrounded by and love me and watched me grow, and the ability to live out this dream I never thought I'd be able to do.
So here's to getting dressed up when there's nowhere to go, dancing when there's no music playing, and dreaming when there's no road yet paved ahead.
Life
is too short to wait... so here's to getting dressed up anyway, being
kind to everyone you encounter, and being able to say "It is well" through every circumstance in life we face, because we know the One who holds it all.
31... I'm excited for what you've got for me!
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
