Why You Should Have Engagement Photos Taken by a Professional Photographer

You’ve probably seen plenty of friends announce their engagement by posting their photos all over Instagram etc,.. and you’re wondering 'should I take them too?, Do I even need to? But were not good at posing, I don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera etc,..'

Well the answer is…YES!!! You most definitely should have your engagement photos taken by a professional photographer.

And if you're wondering why… I'm here to give you all of the reasons why yes you absolutely should have your engagement photos done! Here are my reasons:

1.        You get to have a super fun time with me! Okay just kidding there are plenty of other reasons, but I am pretty fun and promise you I will make you laugh and smile the entire way through.

2.        This is the only time in your life you will be engaged and its time to celebrate and rejoice in this moment! Having your photos taken documents this happy time with who you are as a couple.

3.        Save the dates! Okay who doesn’t want gorgeous photos to show off on their beautiful card stock paper?! I LOVE seeing couples all dressed up and photographed when I receive a save the date… it's a beautiful version of them as a couple not many get to see all the time.

4.        You get comfortable in front of the camera. I know it can be intimidating, but when you are in the hands of a great photographer… they will do their best to make you feel and look amazing.

5.        Your wedding day will be like paparazzi galore… so having your engagement session taken beforehand will allow you to establish a relationship with your photographer, feel comfortable in front of the camera, and you will be a total pro on your wedding day!

6.         Ladies we have all watched those movies where the guy is super sweet and picks up the girl he loves and then spins her around, they run together splashing their feet by the ocean, she's sitting on the basket on his bike as they ride through the giant willow trees on a breezy summer day at sunset. And then we secretly wish our lives were a movie too (even if we don’t admit it!)… well I'm here to make all your Nicholas Sparks movie dreams come true! I truly try to make my clients the stars of their own romantic movie at all of my engagement sessions, and of course give you a few laughs along the way!

7.        When all is said and done, the only thing we will have left are our memories and photographs. Photography is so much more than just a shoot. It’s memories that are passed down to your future family. I treasure old photographs, and choosing a photographer that can accurately depict who you are as a couple will always be a worthy investment.

8.         A professional photographer knows what poses look best for you and utilize the natural beautiful light to accentuate your best features. These photographs will be seen by everyone you love, so choosing a professional will make sure your photos are beautiful.
